Mid-Winter Break
Well, haven't post for like 2months..
it's not mid-winter break.
Still got B.C. in the morning, so I still had to wake up at 6:15 anyways. The good thing about it is that when I get home at 8:50 there's like a whole day ahead of me. It feels good to have a lot of time.
Haven't done much at all this break. The only hw I've done for NHS is APUSH, but I'm still not done with that. Sighhh.
I'm really into cooking/baking recently. Maybe it's that motherly side coming out of me...is this part of maturing? Ok, I don't know what I'm saying.
So this break, I made my...4th(?) or 5th(?) or 6th (?) cup of foamy coffee...
I can't put a name to it tho, cuz cappuccino, lattes, macchiato, mocha are all made with espresso. And I don't have a espresso machine to make that. So I just make it with instant coffee powder from Starbucks. Results aren't gonna turn out as good as actual drinks with an espresso base of course, but who cares. I'm not an expert coffee drinker.

Anyways, so coffee on the bottom, and then milk and then milk foam on the top. And then I [attempt to] drizzle a design on the foam with chocolate syrup.
I really like making this cuz it makes me feel fancy :D
Wish I could do latte art though...someday. I will.
Also made Bubble Tea without the tapioca. I guess it's called milk tea then. Yeah, I made that. And my mom has the martini shakers so that was fit.
I actually have 2(?) boxes of milk tea powder from Taiwan that's easy and fast to make, and taste really good (of course), but it's fun making your own.
Also baked a
Honey Castella Cake (蜂蜜蛋糕). well..except it wasn't really a cake. I was just trying to bake up a smallllll sample, and if it turned out good, I can make an actual cake later on.

And my small sample turned out good! The honey and sweetness taste was on point. Reminds me of Taiwan and childhood. Thing is that my sample was wayyy too small, there was no depth to the cake, it was like a thin slice of...idkk..it was like pancake.
It was even thinner than flat cake, so the spongy part of the cake did not come out. But that will be fixed, once I make a full cake.
I swear I watched like >10 cooking videos/browsed recipes this week.
Omurice(蛋包飯), egg pudding
(雞蛋布丁), swiss rolls, white sauce spaghetti with wine, etc.
Didn't make those yet. But I will...someday. Especially the omurice, I wanna try that possibly..Wednesday?
Ok, I guess that's about it for now? Sighh only 2 more days of break and then back to school :(
Break was boring, but passed by way too fast.
