My Wild Imagination #2
Last time I wrote a little
fanfiction about a road trip with JJ, and so this time I decided to write one about Raymond Lam.
Before we begin though...
- Raymond Lam is a Cantonese actor and singer. While reading this story, pretend he's 28, and pretend I'm 24, and he comes to Seattle for a visit.
I actually had to do
research for this story. Research about skydiving, cuz I know nothin about it. But it seems like a fun thing to do, so I had to look into this topic. In the story, the information(s) about skydiving equips and procedures should be pretty accurate.
Here is goes(click read more):
Raymond Lam and I met 2 weeks ago. It was a total accident, and I never thought I'd be texting him, and be friends with him. (but thats another story.) Anyways, through our late night texts, I found out that he's actually a certified skydiver and has served as a tandem instructor before. He then asked if I've ever been skydiving, and I replied, saying that I've always wanted to, but never got a chance.
So last Saturday, we decided to go
skydiving in Seattle. The weather was sunny. It wasn't super hot, but it was definitely warm, with a breeze once in a while. We reached the site at 1:30pm. Raymond and one of the instructors from the skydiving center talked to me about the basics. Stuff like checking the altitude, count to three at 6000 feet, signaling instructor (Raymond) with hands, pulling ripcord (to open parachute), etc.
Then I took a drink of water, breathed, and tried to relax, next
Raymond and I put on a jumpsuit.
We boarded the small plane at around 1:45. On the plane, we practiced a bit more; how to jump off and stuff.
The small plane held Raymond, me, the pilot, and the camera person, Alex. On the way up, I sat next to the pilot, but facing the back, towards Raymond. Alex was adjusting and getting his camera equips ready.
The higher the plane went, the more scared I had become. I started to regret going on this skydiving adventure. Raymond must've sensed my fear, cuz he kept trying to make me laugh like he always does. It....wasn't working though...I wasn't laughing, but I smiled at his efforts. After around 3 minutes of awkward silence, my fear has REALLY started to rise, and Raymond decided at that moment to
take my hand and hold it. I was shocked. Okay. Like superr shocked. He told me this, in almost exact words:
"Miranda, relax. Everything is going to be alright. Trust me, I've done this thing for years. I remember the first time I went parachuting. I was just as scared as you were, but when I jumped out and saw how beautiful everything was, I wasn't scared anymore. You're gonna love doing this. Trust me."
Okay, now, just a little opinion on what he said...THAT was cheesy. :P But somehow, it made me feel a bit better. Maybe it's cuz he was holding on to my hands xD
After a while, we finally reached 11,000 feet. Before the door opened, Raymond connected my harness to his. We then got onto our knees and the door opened. We leaned out, and it was just scary. I've used that words 10000 times now. But its true. Next, Raymond and I stepped out onto this flat plate above the wheel and held onto this thing.

Not us. Ready to jump?!? |
He asked if I was ready to jump. I was soo frightened I could only nod yes. It was pretty cold standing there, and veryyy noisy too. Anyways, so then, the exciting and the best part comes. We swayed back and forth a couple times (
holding hands), and then he counted, one, two, and THREE, and we jumped. The cameraman jumped right after us.
|
Not us.
But our harness was set up this way. |
It was
UNBELIEVABLE jumping out. It's like..you can't react in time you know. I've NEVER EVER been up so high, in the middle of nowhere, and not in a plane nor attached to anything. It's just like wow...did I really just jump outta the freaking plane.
After a bit, Raymond told me that we did
3 backflips before stabilizing. I could feel that we were tumbling and falling, but I did not know that I was doing backflips. It actually didn't feel like I was falling down fast though. It felt...idk...amazing. I turned my head to look at Raymond and he looked at me.
I forgot to mention this earlier, but our harness was made for 2 people, so it's like Raymond's on top of me, so we could stay together.
|
Again, not us. |
My smile was too big for my face.
Out of surprise, he then
hugged me. The two weeks I've known him, I've only thought of him as best friends. But on this trip, when he first held my hands, I felt something different. And now this, the hugging. I was beginning to fall in love with him. I put my hands around his, and let him hug me tightly. It felt amazing, to be hugged and to enjoy the scene at the same time.
The free fall actually lasted around a minute. So all that backflip, smiling, and hugging only happened for one minute -.-
After around a minute, Raymond checked the altitude, which now said 6000. Then he counted to 3, and pulled the ripcord and the parachute opened up. Now we are falling stable and I felt more safe looking around. It was AMAZING. Soooo
beautiful up there. The beauty lasted 6-7 minutes. We then aimed and landed at the site. It was kinda rough trying to end -.- I think that was the worst part. 6-7 minutes felt TOO short. I wanna stay up there longerr!!
|
Parachute opens up. |
After we got the harness off, and left the center, I found my fingers still shaking. Although I was more relaxed when the parachute opened up, my body was still very tense. My legs felt weak. Raymond knew all about these stuff so he picked me up
bridal style, and I let out a small scream.
I was surprised (again), and not use to people, especially guys holding me that way. I told him to put me down and threatened to kick and scream if he didn't. He told me that if I don't be quiet it was just gonna attract us attention -.- So I stopped talking and let him carry me for like 3 minutes to his car. It WAS 3 minutes. I actually looked at his watch when he picked me up and when he set me down in the passenger seat of his
silver Lamborghini (talk about rich celebrities...).
That 3 minutes was pretty embarrassing for me..it attracted unnecessary audiences, but I did enjoy it(:
We then drove to a Chinese restaurant and ate like pigs due to the tiny intake of food that day. I ordered some beef noodle soup and Raymond ordered fried rice (asian sausage and egg).
After I ate half of my beef noodle soup, I
grabbed Raymond's fried rice, and replaced it with my noodles. I ate his fried rice like nothing had happened. It was HILARIOUS. He looked at me like "
WTF did u just do". So I said that I was tired of eating noodles and wanted his fried rice. He started laughing hysterically, and I laughed too. Why? I'm not sure.
|
Raymond's delicious beef noodle soup.
Okay, it looked better if you see it live. |
After the meal, he drove me to his place (he stayed at a hotel. cuz he's visiting from Hong Kong). He told me to make myself comfortable while he went to the bathroom. I walked around his room and came to a stop on his desk. There was a DVD of one of his drama- "Men With No Shadows". I inserted the DVD into the TV, took of my shoes, and hopped onto
Raymond's bed and started watching it.
|
I hopped onto his bed :D |
He came out a few minutes later:
Raymond:"Have you watched this before?"
Me: "I watched some, but never got to finish it. You were so evil in this drama."
Raymond:*laughs while taking off his shoes and sitting down beside me on the bed*
Me:"Your trying to kill them!"
Raymond:"Hey! it's not my fault. Blame the scriptwriters."
|
One of his drama--Men With No Shadows. |
Then he walked away and came back drinking a can of
Sprite. I grabbed the soda right outta his hand and took a nice, long sip.
Ray:" What's with you stealing my food today??"
Me:"I'm thirsty."
Ray:*Steals the can back and drinks it*
Me:" GIVE IT BACK!!"
Ray:" It's mine!"
Me:" I dont care. im thirsty."
Ray:"evil Miranda."
Me:*tickles him and steals the can*
Then we started a tickling and steal the can fight. On the bed. The Sprite was emptied by us in less than 2 minutes, Raymond threw the can on the ground, and
our tickling fight continued. The fight got pretty serious though. We were tickling each other while lying down on the bed. Side by side. Anyways, so I was about to attack again when he
grabbed both of my hands. I tried to break free but couldn't. The laughter died. We made eye contact for a few seconds. We just froze there, not moving.
Suddenly, the door swung open and someone walked in. It happened so quick, and there was no knocking on the door, so Raymond and I couldn't react in time. The person, which turned out to be Raymond's agent/manager, saw us there, lying on the bed, his hands holding mine so I wouldn't tickle him. She quickly turned around, said "sorry. bad timing" and walked out chuckling to herself.
He released my arms and we sat up straight.
Awkward silence for a few seconds. Then I told him that I should get going. He sat in silence. I thanked him for the skydiving adventure and I thanked him for the meal. Lastly, I told him "I had a great time spending the day with you." Then I put my shoes on and headed for the door.
"Wait, Miranda!"
I turned around. He offered me a ride. "Nahh," I said, "It's okay. I can take the bus, its really convenient" (not). He smiled and said okay.
Ray:" well..call me when you get home. I wanna make sure you get home safely."
Me: *smile* "I'm not a kid!"
Ray:" Your younger than me."
Me:"alrighty. bye."
Ray:*walk towards me. awkward silence for 9 seconds. *Leans in and
hugs me* "bye"
Me:*hug him back*
Epilogue:
That day...was just wonderful. I went skydiving..something that I never thought I would've done, and not just skydiving. But skydiving with a Cantonese celebrity. Millions of girls out there would DIE to do this, and to eat a meal with him, to go to his hotel, to watch an episode of his drama with him, to tickle him, to lie on the bed with him, to hug him, and have him hold ur hands. I mean, wow..once in a lifetime experience.
Getting together with Raymond is every teenager's wish. But I know that's impossible. Probably the same possibility as winning the lottery, probably even less chance than that. After all,
love is all fate and lottery is...well lottery. So on this whole trip, the first day we started texting each other, I never planned to fall deeply in love with him. He's hot, and i'm a big fan of him, but before this trip, I've only planned to become his friend. Who knew he's so easy to fall in love with. Even though all these things happened, I'm not gonna get my hopes up. A
normal person with a celebrity is very hard for any relationship to begin. But I'll always remember today, and I'll count today as our first "playDATE".
Do you like my story?? it's not one of those slushy mushy stories, where everything i wish happens. It's not a story where when you read it, you'll keep smiling and squealing and all that. But this story is more realistic, I think. I believe that if you're reading a story, and there's a smile on your face every second, then that story is too unrealistic and too mushy to happen in real life. I want a story that..might not be able to happen, but isn't too far to the extreme. It's always fun imaging the more extreme stuff with a celebrity you love, but....for my stories...I'm gonna write something that's a little, just a teeny teeny bit more realistic.
**NOTE: this did NOT ever happen to me, nor ever happened to Raymond Lam. It's only a story I made up. I do NOT know if he's a certified skydiving instructor, I'm not even sure if he's ever been skydiving before, and I haven't either. I'm also not sure who his agent person is. I'm not sure if it's a he or she, but I wrote she in the story. Final note: I've never even met Raymond Lam in real life.
